The Interior

When I bought this car, it was in its original condition with a full Nissan service history and original 'everything'. First of all, I replaced the Clarion radio/cassette player with a Blaupunkt stereo.  The wiring was horrible to work with, and a separate holder/adapter was required.  The original 5W speakers were replaced by 2 pairs of 40 + 40W Clarion speakers, a pair of tweeters on the dash board and a single 60W Kenwood speaker.  At the moment I am not interested in installing a huge sound system, as I've been busy in other things.

The STEERING WHEEL is from Mountney, with three polished spokes and the 12" wheel covered in leather. Because it is much smaller in diameter as compared to the original (non-power-assisted) steering wheel, parking is a fraction harder than it was before. But the steering was quite light to begin with, so I can live with it.

On the dashboard there is a MOBILE PHONE HOLDER. My phone has a flashing antenna, which lights up when a call is made to me, so I don't miss a call because of the loud(-ish) music.

The COMPASS comes in handy when I am visiting new places especially in the late hours, as it can light up at night. Although my wristwatch has a compass too, looking at it while driving could be hazardous (and might as well be illegal in the U.K., as is using a mobile phone and driving simultaneously).

Another gadget is a DELAY SWITCH, which keeps the courtesy light on for nearly 30 seconds after the doors are closed. It prevents unnecessary fiddling with the keys in the dark, and gives an opportunity to ensure that all the doors are locked and no valuables are left inside, after the car is parked. Thankfully, it doesn't interfere with the ALARM, which is also connected to the courtesy light.

At the rear end, I have managed to install two BRAKE LIGHTS, which show through the hatch window. I might add a central brake light and a pair of indicator lights as well, to conclude the team.
